Johor Bahru, the vibrant southern gem of Malaysia, offers a perfect blend of modernity and tradition, making it an ideal destination for a quick getaway. Whether you’re a food enthusiast, a culture buff, or an adventure seeker, JB has something for everyone. Here’s how you can make the most of a 3-day, 2-night stay in this captivating city:

Day 1: Start off your day at Johor Bahru City Square

Begin your adventure with a visit to Johor Bahru City Square, a popular shopping and entertainment complex. After browsing through the shops and boutiques, head to the top floor to Ho Seng Kee for their famous Johor Laksa. The rich, creamy coconut milk broth with just the right amount of spice will be a delightful start to your trip.

Day 1: In the evening, head on over to Stulang Laut

Go on over to Stulang Laut for a picturesque evening by the sea. The waterfront area is perfect for a relaxing stroll. As the sun sets, make your way to the nearby duty free zone, where you can find great deals on chocolates, perfumes, and alcohol. For dinner, try the seafood at TKK Seafood Restaurant, known for its fresh catches and stunning sea views.

Day 2: Start day two with a visit to the Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque

The Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque is an architectural marvel that blends Victorian and Moorish styles. The serene atmosphere and panoramic views of the Straits of Johor are sure to leave you in awe. The mosque is located along Jalan Skudai, making it easily accessible by taxi or Grab. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the stunning sight of the mosque’s minarets and its pristine white facade, which stands out against the lush greenery of the surrounding gardens.

Day 2: Learn more about Chinese heritage at the Johor Bahru Old Chinese Temple

This is one of the oldest structures in the city. The temple, built in the 19th century, offers a glimpse into the history of the Chinese community in Johor Bahru. After soaking in the history, head to Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, a heritage street filled with quaint shops and cafes. For lunch, stop at Hua Mui Restaurant for their famous Hainanese chicken chop and kaya toast. As you approach, you'll notice the vibrant red and gold exterior, typical of traditional Chinese temples, which contrasts beautifully with the modern surroundings.

Day 2: End the day at the bustling Pasar Karat night market

Pasar Karat is a treasure trove for shoppers. The market features a wide variety of stalls selling everything from vintage items and antiques to fashion and accessories. You’ll find unique pieces like retro clothing, old vinyl records, second-hand books, handmade crafts, and quirky collectibles. Each stall offers something different, so take your time to browse and explore. Also don't forget to sample street food like otak-otak (grilled fish cake wrapped in banana leaves) and grilled satay. For a sweet treat, try the apam balik.

Day 3: Dedicate your third day to adventure and adrenaline at LEGOLAND

Whether you're traveling with kids or just young at heart, the park offers a variety of rides, shows, and attractions that guarantee a fun-filled day. Don't miss the water park if you need a refreshing break from the heat. Arrive early to maximise your time at the park. LEGOLAND Malaysia is about a 20-minute drive from Johor Bahru city center and approximately 40 minutes from Senai International Airport. Ample parking is available if you’re driving, or you can take a shuttle or taxi.

Day 3: Finish off the day by unwinding at Danga Bay
