Review: TDK Clef-X TH-EC300 Earphones

By Jessica

One of the most-used travel essentials from everyday commutes to mind-numbingly long haul flights is our earphones. With this in mind, we’ve always got our ears pricked when hunting for the perfect pair. What we’re looking out for is one that fits into little space, sturdy, comfortable, and most importantly, stellar surround sound to keep other noise out, and we find that the TDK Clef-X TH-EC300 delivers seamlessly.

More than just sensibly made accessories, we couldn’t wait to test out this piece of solid-built earphones, made more superior with Japanese technology.

Excellent fit

1: The EC-300 features insulation foam tips and silicon earpieces in S, M and L

Much like Cinderella’s glass slipper, it’s extremely important that your earphones fit like a glove. The EC300 inner-ear stereo earphones is equipped with standard sound insulation of foam tips to fit any ear, affording a comfortable listening environment. In addition to this, silicon earpieces are included in sizes S, M and L, which we found extremely convenient for individual adjustments.

High-quality sound

The EC300 is powered by a newly developed 13.5mm diameter Xtreme Premium Driver, a heavy bass reproduction large driver that reinforces quality sound and a deep bass. Every beat and note is crystal clear, and we appreciated that all this was magnified incredibly.

Maximum absorption

2: Built with gravity resin and metal ring, and a rubber layer for clearer transmission

No more noise distractions – the EC300 takes care of that in its design. The body is built with a detailed gravity resin and metal (aluminium) ring and a rubber layer which results in a clearer sound system, subduing unwelcome reverberation and echos. All those background interference when you’re trying to appreciate a new song or listen to a podcast? Dealt with.

Eye-catching design and colours

3: Practical design: a parallel line upper code

We love how the earphones appeal to different personalities through the subtle touch of colour. Just one line of red, orange or blue, paired with black, runs through the length of the cords, which branches out in a parallel line upper code to their respective transmission.
