The good news is that you and I can experience our favourite movies at theme parks this year, launching shows and attractions inspired by best-loved animations. You can count on these soon-to-be launched parks to transport you to another world…

The Lowdown: Step into an island shrouded in mystery and legend.  A lost world where adventure – and the unimaginable – will challenge you in unforgettable ways. That’s the premise behind Universal Orlando’s newest blockbuster attraction, Skull Island: Reign of Kong. Visitors get to board a specially designed expedition vehicle that enters a mysterious island where you’ll be surrounded in the midst of a raging struggle between giant, ferocious creatures, including one that goes by the legend of King Kong.

The Lowdown: Fans of the animated adventure Frozen will love this one. Frozen – Live at the Hyperion is new musical based on Disney's animated blockbuster film and it will immerse audiences in the emotional journey of Anna and Elsa with all of the excitement of live theatre, in an entertaining musical adaptation that includes elaborate costumes and sets, stunning special effects, show-stopping production numbers and unique theatrical surprises. The show will also unveil new musical features and lyrics by the creators of the film score.

The Lowdown: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, takes on the movie mania in light speed with the next generation fireworks shows, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. Set to premiere this summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the display will wow with fireworks, lasers, special effects and video projections of characters and scenes from the complete saga, to the iconic score of the film series. There will also be a new live stage show Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away, which will celebrate iconic moments from the franchise with live vignettes of popular characters such as BB-8, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul. Last but not least, at Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, guests buckle up for an enhanced high-speed journey with new Force Awakens characters and a visit to Jakku.

The Lowdown: Following its international debut in LEGOLAND Florida Resort, The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure now arrived at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. The immersive 4D cinematic ride reunites the stars of The LEGO Movie in a LEGOLAND Parks exclusive storyline. Fans can discover what happened after Emmet, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, MetalBeard and Benny reunite at the invitation of a shady new character, Risky Business, who plans to open a theme park bearing a suspicious resemblance to LEGOLAND. The 4D short film will play several times a day at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort’s LEGO Studio, with effects such as wind, water, fog and more for the full experience.
